The client, California Induction Heating Services, was starting a new business providing induction heating coils and power supplies. It is a small shop with over 25 years in the industry.
Induction heating is the process of welding metals using magnetic fields. The piece to weld is placed within a coil of copper. An electric current is passed through the coil, heating the piece in seconds.
This industry contains only a handful of companies which have been operating for many years. From this client, I wanted to help set them apart by providing a modern looking, more minimalist design. It was agreed between myself and the client to feature the initials to make a more recognizable image with them at the center. I was inspired by the process of induction heating, the coil around the rod. It would be identifiable to those who know induction heating, and I wanted to represent that in my design.
